Katy is a lyrical saxophonist with warm rich tones. She performs in London on the jazz & world music scene (Bulls Head Barnes, Ronnie Scott’s, Black’s, The Vortex, Hampton Court) with appearances at Latitude, Edinburgh Festival, Brighton Pride, Royal Festival Hall – and internationally in Cuba, Milan, Rome, Berlin and Czecky Kremlov (southern Bohemia). She writes original, inspired material for contemporary dance and also performs as a singer-song writer.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Katy has collaborated her skills on accordian and clarinet working with composers Alan D Boyd & Dan Mulhern. Other collaborations include a BBC documentary with Les Zoings for Royal Academy artist Bob and Roberta Smith and the play Blue Blouses at the Pushkin Club with www.eccentricactor.co.uk
From jazz, swing, soul and Cuban through to improvisation, hip hop and house, Katy is at home across a wide range of music styles. She loves entertaining at corporate events (past clients include Google and News UK) and at private parties, weddings and other more intimate gatherings.
She works in theatre, with street parading bands, on trains and yachts and can be heard on albums and in many people’s memories. Katy believes that live music is something we just can’t live without if we really want to party.
